**Silkie Pullet Pricing Scale**

This pricing applies to females 3 months and older. I sell all of mine as pet quality, but that does not mean you cannot breed or show them. I have listed many birds priced below $105, none of which had any disqualifications (DQs). Dark blues and blacks tend to be the least popular, so I sometimes offer them at lower prices.

I breed several color varieties of Silkies: Paint, Black, Blue, Splash, Lavender, and Cuckoo. It's important to mention that Cuckoo is not a recognized variety for shows; it refers to birds with a barring pattern and can come in various colors. I specifically breed Black Cuckoo and Lavender Cuckoo. Cuckoo birds will have light skin, light eyes, and a red comb. In my pricing, I do not consider these traits to be defects in the Cuckoo variety.

The Satin feather type is not recognized as a breed or feather type. While you can show Satins and Frizzled Satins, they are classified as a Non-Standard Variety (NSV). I price my Satins the same way as my Silkies, even though Satins are not recognized for competitive showing.

If you're considering purchasing a Silkie with the intention of showing, I recommend sticking with regular or Frizzle Silkie feathering rather than a Showgirl or Satin. The only exception is if you find a bearded white Showgirl, as they are an accepted variety for shows.

**Pricing and Condition Guidelines for Silkies:**

 - **$75**: The bird has at least two of the following DQs for showing: split wing,  less than desirable foot feathering, extra toe or nail, conjoined toes, duck foot, small head crest, wrong colored earlobes, wrong colored eyes, or pointy tail.

- **$85**: The bird has one of the following DQs for showing: split wing, less than desirable foot feathering, extra toe or nail, conjoined toes, duck foot, small head crest, wrong colored earlobes, wrong colored eyes, or pointy tail.

- **$95**: The bird does not have any known disqualifications that I noticed, but may have undesired color leakage, such as a tiny bit of leakage on neck feathers or toe spacing that is acceptable but not perfect.

- **$105 and up**: The bird has no known disqualifications and is a suitable candidate for a 4-H student, provided it is one of the recognized types and colors for showing.
